The Pender County Board of Social Services provides oversight and serves as the entity of support for programs and services rendered by the Department of Social Services. This includes evaluating the existing service delivery system and searching for ways to enhance and improve the manner in which clients are guided through the local government maze. The Board formulates policies to achieve this end. Moreover, the Board works diligently to maintain positive intergovernmental relations with other agencies in order to heighten citizens' awareness of the scope of services offered.
