The Pender County Department of Social Services is an agency that touches the lives of the entire county population, whether directly or indirectly. The agency's programs of public assistance and social services encompass a broad scope of ways and means to assist low income families, elderly, handicapped individuals, abused/neglected children, and otherwise vulnerable special categories of needy persons. The agency's overriding theme has always been 'continuous improvement'. With this in mind, there is an ongoing effort to broaden the scope of our commitment to helping all citizens.
